DESCRIPTION:
This isn't just a good early embossed antique American bottle, it's a great bottle & was produced in downtown New York City in the early 20th century. It was produced by
G. B. Seely's Son. Inc.,
of 319-331 W15th Street in New York City
on or after 1914, since the bottle's maker's stamped, embossed marking includes the 'Inc.,' after the
G. B. Seely's Son
logo at the top of the bottle. It's a semi-transparent, machine-made early soda/seltzer bottle and features semi-transparent aqua color. Please see the last of the 12 photos for the color that is closer to the bottle's actual aqua color. The colors shown were somewhat altered in an attempt to highlight the embossed lettering and the graphic iconography on the other side of the bottle, which features a bartender pouring a drink, tending a bar with bottles & glasses.
The bottle once held 28 fluid ounces.
The bottle is largely free of chips or loss and still has its hinged wire stopper clasp. The ceramic porcelain stopper is no longer present. it was carefully and gently cleaned to carefully remove sediment and dirt but otherwise remains untouched and undisturbed. A great piece of New York City memorabilia that's now 100 years old and counting. Terrific.

The particular bottle offered is machine made (28 oz) with the “Inc” embossed after the name, which puts it in the vicinity of 1914 or later. The back of the bottle is embossed with their trademark picture of a bartender pouring drinks. Frank Seely filed the trademark application on July 11, 1905 (No. 10,063). In the application he stated that it had been in use since 1870.
