    Description

    Description:
Vintage 1980s Phase Linear 9500 Rare 1st High End CD Player.
A true piece of home audio history, the Phase Linear 9500. This is the first high end CD player released in the United States, in approximately 1982 or 1983. The player is equipped with a TDA 1540; developed by Philips in the late 1970's. From Phase Linear ; "HISTORY The Phase Linear 9500 CD player is perhaps the rarest of all the company's components. It was actually designed and built by Kyocera of Japan and was introduced to the American market in mid-1983. Kyocera used its DA-01 CD player as the basis for the 9500, with specific changes requested by Phase Linear. Months after the 9500 was introduced, International Jensen, the parent company of Phase Linear, made the decision to get out of the high-end home audio market and concentrate on car stereos.”

Powers on and that is as much as I have tested because I do not have a stereo system; I am not tech savvy and do not know how to use it. I do not have knowledge about this item nor am I an expert. Scuffs, marks, wear(Please see images).
