Vintage Duss Band Tremolo QUADRUPLE Harmonica made by J. S. Duss in Germany. Four-sided harmonica in the keys of A, C, D, and G, key marked on cover plate on each side. This instrument is made up of 4 harmonicas hinged together, for a total of 64 double holes and 128 reeds. Reddish-brown stained wooden comb with silver-tone metal cover plates. Metal handles / holders at each end, BUT ONE IS MISSING! Cover plates are marked:

John Samuel Duss (1860-1951) was a band master, conductor, composer, teacher, cattle rancher, businessman, and founder of the Duss Concert Band. His harmonicas first appeared around the turn of the [19th] century, and died off around World War I (1914).
The National Museum of American History has a Duss Band Tremolo Quartet in its collection. Definitely a hard-to-find instrument that stands out on a shelf or in a mouth.
This instrument is in Good Condition. The harmonica is missing one of the little handles on one end. The sound that comes out of it is incredible, and it's neat to play on each of the four sides in different keys and hear the effect.
